As a psychotherapist, I once went to Bawa Muhaiyaddeen to share my insights and judgements regarding my occupation.

I said to him that if a person causes his/her own problems, shouldn’t I inform him that, so to speak, he is shooting himself in his own foot?

I expected Bawa to pat me on the back and tell me how wise I was.

Instead, he threw cold water on my perceptions and said, emphatically, “NO, my child. Your job is to bring peace into another’s heart, not to correct him — that is God’s job!”
