What is our role, our purpose in life… why are we here?

Bawa Muhaiyaddeen gave us a beautiful, powerful, intensely practical answer to this question: while we are alive, we need to strive to know our true identity, our true being.

If we can touch this, then we have achieved our goal here on earth – true peace and love that surpasses all understanding.

This center of our being can be reached by practicing God’s qualities.

This will enable us to find true love.

I talked with an old friend who called from Florida this morning.

He had just gone through a difficult period with his health and had undergone surgery to receive a defibrillator implant.

He was very grateful for is newfound health.

He said to me, “You know, Locke, the only thing we need in this life is love. With this, we can do anything and accept whatever comes our way with grace. It is all that is needed – it’s so simple and we make it so difficult.”

The more I thought about his words the more I saw their wisdom and clarity.

With love all things are possible, and life is beautiful.
