Wouldn’t it be a wonderful thing if we could act from the heart all the time. The wise ones tell us that wisdom comes from the heart whereas intellectual perceptions come from the mind. It’s the mind that constantly gets us in trouble; it takes little matters and makes them huge, so that they paralyze us with fear or worry. In like manner, conversely, it takes important matters and makes them tiny so that they vanish from our awareness. And sometimes wisdom points out simple duties.
For lack of a nail, the shoe is lost.
For lack of a shoe the horse is lost.
For lack of a horse the rider is lost. For lack of a rider the message is lost.
For lack of a message the battle is lost.
For lack of a battle the war is lost.
For lack of a war the country is lost.
