Things of no use

June 20th, 2008 by Locke in Daily Life, Spiritual Journey

A friend without love

Charity without compassion

Devotion without truth

Prayer without faith

Learning without wisdom

Progress in life without proper conduct

Friendship from one without beauty in his heart and face

Patient traveler…

June 19th, 2008 by Locke in Daily Life, Spiritual Journey

   Our mind is so fast
     it travels  the world
     in a second.

    It is always
     way ahead of our heart
     peeking around each corner.

     Our heart is a
       patient traveler
     He just plods on.

      He doesn’t have
   the quickness of mind
      nor the cleverness.

     But wherever he walks
       there is a beauty
      and flowers grow.

      It’s hard to explain:
       I would really like to
       follow the mind.

      But, just see how
        this other wonder
      has filled my life

Peaceful world, peaceful life…

June 18th, 2008 by Locke in Daily Life, Spiritual Journey

Do not wander about trying to make the world peaceful.

If everyone would make his own life peaceful, the whole world would have peace.

Do not be impatient under any circumstances; it will destroy your life.

Stop, think, analyze.

Act with patience and wisdom and you will see peace in your life.

If you truly become good…

June 16th, 2008 by Locke in Daily Life, Spiritual Journey

If you truly become good, all lives will show respect to you.

You won’t need to go around advertising your worth.

When a flower blooms and sends out its fragrance, all the noses that pass by will smell its sweetness and enjoy it.

Honeybees and insects will even come from far away in search of it.

In the same way, when the flower of your heart blooms and the fragrance of God’s truth emanates from it, whoever has a good heart and good intentions will recognize that fragrance.
