We often think of duty as a chore or a task we should do or our conscience will nag at us. But there is another way to view it. We all have inside us a goodness. We may acknowledge it intellectually but not act on it- feeling it’s enough to just know it’s there. But when we don’t act on goodness- it tends to decompose and affects us negatively. When we choose to say a kind word to someone,help someone,listen to someone,forgive someone,be generous to someone -all these actions are duties – even prayers. They nourish us spiritually and bring a wonderful sense of peace into our hearts. Our everyday life is indeed our church and our direct path to God.
