the World

January 21st, 2009 by Locke in Uncategorized

The world is like a table spread for successive relays of guests who come and go.There are gold and silver dishes, abundance of food and perfumes. The wise guest eats as much as is sufficient for him, smells the perfumes, thanks his host, and departs. The foolish guest,on the other hand, tries to carry off some of the gold and silver dishes, only to find them wrenched out of his hands, and himself thrust forth disappointed and disgraced.

hastiness

January 19th, 2009 by Locke in Uncategorized

I’m often  in a hurry.

I just like to get

things done quickly.

The other day,I knocked over a bottle

in my hastiness.

I got angry at the bottle, first,

blaming it for being

in the wrong place.

Then I got angry

at myself,

the real culprit.

This is

a funny thing.

I’m not perfect;

I make mistakes.

I can forgive others,

but not myself.

When will I learn forgiveness

begins at home-

just like charity

It will certainly make my life calmer

and anger,the stranger,outside

won’t come to my door anymore.

true psychology

January 18th, 2009 by Locke in Daily Life, Meditation, Spiritual Journey, service

True psychology is the way in which peace can be brought into a person’s heart. The study of psychology has to do with the attachments of the mind.If these attachments are seen and understood they can be dispelled and transformed by the practice of the qualities of God such as; patience, tolerance, forgiveness, compassion understanding and love. Once this state is realized in a person, he/she can then help another to achieve the same state. The Buddhists say,”The mind is by its nature restless, but you are not the mind”. When we find this non-mind state we will have found peace. It is the gem of great beauty which lies at the center of our being.

sharing

January 17th, 2009 by Locke in Uncategorized

With wisdom, burn away the greed of your miserliness and show mercy and compassion to all lives. If you share what you have with others, they will be comforted, and seeing their happiness will give you peace and satisfaction.

You did not bring anything with you and you cannot take anything back. If you reflect on this and perform your duty with the realization that your life and others are the same, the kingdom of God will be yours.
