I watched my dog once
chasing his tail
in a circle
He was very
earnest.
Even if I had told him
it was a
mistake
He wouldn’t have stopped.
Around and around I go
My tail changes

One minute it’s a book,
the next a woman,
then a gem.
If I give my dog
something tasty
he might stop.
What prize

It is said, in the darkness
one has a choice;
Either curse it
or light a light.
I cursed it
for a long time,
but found it stayed there.
And then I
saw a light; pure wisdom
That came from
a wise man.
Now, when it
gets dark
I turn on
the light;

And besides I can
see to work.
We have so much
to learn from animals.

Not one to complain.
Just busy finding nuts
and storing them.

He knows Winter is near.
Each step, each nut
is the difference between
Life and death.
How’re we doing
with our gathering?
Yesterday, I found
a few.
But, today I have
to go to the city.
Tomorrow, I may be
travelling.
I’ll never manage
this way.
Winter is coming
I’m way behind
schedule.
