movie house

June 29th, 2009 by Locke in Daily Life, Jihad, Meditation

Did you ever notice

how your finger stops hurting

when you go to the movies?

For two hours ,you forget it

But after you come out,

It begins to throb again.

Isn’t there a movie house

I could spend my life in

To remove my pain?

The sage tells us there is;

The problem is we have to build it;

Brick by brick.

I’ve started,but there’s

A long way to go.

Yet sometimes,already

When I sit in it,

I can feel my troubles go.

I can’t wait till

It’s finished.

we are that

May 11th, 2009 by Locke in Daily Life, Meditation

We take long trips.

We puzzle over the meaning of a painting or a book,

when what we’re wanting to see and understand

in this world,we are that.

seeds

May 4th, 2009 by Locke in Daily Life, Meditation, service

The more things change

 the more they stay

 the same.

A caterpillar carries

within it the germ

of the butterfly.

An acorn carries

within

the mighty oak.

And we,what

do we carry

within?

What is our heritage

what is our

potential?

Do we know this,

Do we understand,

Do we care?

What can I do

To nourish

this seed?

The rain falls

on all things,

Weeds and vegetables alike.

The vegetables grow

into useful forms

How about me?

your birthright

May 3rd, 2009 by Locke in Bawa Muhaiyaddeen, Daily Life, Meditation, service

I am telling you the only way to reach the treasure that is your birthright is to go within. Deep within your innermost being dwells that Almighty One who never diminishes or decreases. Please know this- please look – it is there.

Search for it carefully and go there as love within love.If you open your eyes and look – it is there. It exists as light within light, as the qualities within the qualities. There is a treasure that is fundamental and eternal. It is wisdom,  it is the ocean of compassion, it is light to all beings in the world who see it. This eternal treasure is love.
