heart prayer

January 29th, 2009 by Locke in Daily Life, Meditation, Spiritual Journey

The prayer that comes from the heart is the one valued and accepted by God. That which comes from mind or desire will never bring us peace, but that simple prayer of total trust and surrender will open our lives to true understanding and peace.

true psychology

January 18th, 2009 by Locke in Daily Life, Meditation, service, Spiritual Journey

True psychology is the way in which peace can be brought into a person’s heart. The study of psychology has to do with the attachments of the mind.If these attachments are seen and understood they can be dispelled and transformed by the practice of the qualities of God such as; patience, tolerance, forgiveness, compassion understanding and love. Once this state is realized in a person, he/she can then help another to achieve the same state. The Buddhists say,”The mind is by its nature restless, but you are not the mind”. When we find this non-mind state we will have found peace. It is the gem of great beauty which lies at the center of our being.

Slowness

January 9th, 2009 by Locke in Daily Life, Meditation, Spiritual Journey

Slowness is a great aid to true peace of mind. It is impossible to maintain awareness when you are rushing around. The movements of an enlightened being are never hurried. All of us can learn to move more slowly no matter what we are doing; driving, eating, walking, talking. The practice of awareness is first experienced from the outside in, but soon it takes hold within us; we assimilate the slowness; we become the slowness. Slowness is a first cousin to patience, which is the mother of all good qualities.

dogs

Even dogs know

about God

The other morning

very early I was

doing prayers

The  holy place

I was in was

lit with light.

At the end of

my meditation,I saw

a movement outside.

When I looked closer

I saw  a small white dog

shivering in the dawn.

He put his paws

on the glass and

leaned,looking in.

A magnet draws

metal filings;

Even a dog’s heart is

drawn in

to the light.
